WHO SHOULD GET A SEWER SCOPE?

EVERYONE!

When you buy the property, you buy the problems...
If there is something wrong with the underground sewer line, it will become your responsibility to fix it ($$$).  Best In Class Inspections can perform a sewer scope to identify the problems before you buy them.
New Construction
It may be a brand new line buried in the yard, but what about those large construction trucks that sometimes drive over the yard to deliver or maneuver building materials?  Crushing, breakage, and sagging from soil settlement are all possible defects.

Rehabilitated or "Flipped" Homes
The home may look shiny and new, but its "bones" and inaccessible systems not seen by the buyer are almost all original.  Not only can the sewer line have the normal pre-existing defects, but new ones can develop during renovation (like dumping grout down the line and it hardening within the line, causing blockages).

Older Homes
Time and usage destroys all.  Cracks, root intrusions, joint offsets, breakages, sagging, blockages, and scale buildup are all possible defects in an old sewer lateral.

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN A SEWER SCOPE?
  • A professionally trained inspector certified to perform sewer scopes identifies the access point to enter the main waste line that's buried underground
  • A specialized camera at the end of a flexible fiberoptic cable is inserted into the waste line and pushed downstream until it reaches the final discharge point, or an impassible blockage, whichever comes first
  • The camera will record a video of what it sees as it moves down the pipe, and the inspector will identify any defects observed along the way
  • You, the client, will receive a report detailing the inspection findings along with a link to view the video
